Values & Expectations
«Design is thinking made visual» — Saul Bass
What we believe in
Design Process Beyond Industry Standard
Our biggest advantage over regular design agencies is that we have never adopted the «creative chaos» style of work. We bring clear processes to the client in form of Design Sprints, Brand Sprints and Design Thinking methodologies. We adopt Human Experience Design and Creative Selection). If you haven’t read the book by Ken Kocienda yet, do so.
We stick to our design processes. Whenever we have failed in the past, it was because we tried to skip a step. Do the research, create a concept, build a design and implement it. In that order.
We never participate in pitches, we do not commit to last minute ideas. We do not have a Creative Director culture, yet we challenge everything we do, regularly.
Crafting Deluxe Experiences
Build moments, not things is not only a mantra. We aim for building connections between humans and the products we are tasked to build. Deluxe Experiences enable confidence and clarity. Deluxe Experiences are inclusive and accessible. Deluxe Experiences add true value to people’s lives. Deluxe Experiences are surprising, playful and lustful – and they give room for reflection.
Humans, not Users
We do not reduce the people that we design for to a function or a role. We avoid saying «user» or «persona». We do not treat them as numbers.
Instead, we will try to understand their whole context and enable purpose, clarity and confidence. We will take our time and try to understand who they are, especially if our clients do not do that yet.
What we expect
Show up 100% Prepared
For every meeting, every presentation or every day at the studio you are a part of, have your thoughts, ideas, feedback and actionables written down and ready to share.
Identify Problems and Visualise Solutions
We are in the problem-solving industry. You are a problem solver. Isolate the challenge presented to you. You might have to ask & dive deeper. Suggest a solution - in a visual way.
Base your Work on Ideas and Values
Our world is based on ideas and values – so is your work. Write down your ideas and values and use them as a reference: Why do you make the decision you make? Conceptualize and think.
Support our Clients in Their Mission
Be respectful and optimistic. We only pick clients with a meaningful mission and we give them the promise to help them on their journey, shaping their world according to their vision.
Iterate and Share Quickly
We aim to create work within 48 hours. When you have all the information to get started, start. Take on smaller packages. If you don’t have information, ask until you feel confident to start.
Be Proactive and Make Suggestions
If you see something that is not right, give constructive and visual feedback. Both with clients and team mates. This is what Figma is meant for.
Zoom out and see the Whole Picture
Don’t get stuck working on features, designs or assets.
Document Your Work in Portfolio Quality
As part of your workflow, creating a version that you can share on social media or in our portfolio is always the final step. Keep it in your work files and share it with the team. Make sure that the client sees it – what we have presented, we can later share.
Build Better Standards
You are a designer – build the things that are missing. If you need something repeatedly, create a template for it. If this template sucks, build a better version of it. Iterate and share quickly.
Don’t Surrender to the Workload
We are building a world-class design studio, we will need to rule the work. If things overwhelm you, divide them up into smaller packages. Create and use templates. Iterate and share quickly. Learn new skills if needed.
